Why do I think this?

Perhaps I'm a hopeless romantic.. or just a wondering/pondering soul?

Or,.. it may be because I find that looking at things differently, not only is fun and entertaining.. it can be highly functional, inexpensive, more memorable than other methods (sticks better in my brain), and frequently time saving.

For example-- the other day I wanted to hard boil an egg... I knew I'd done it umpteenth times before-- yet I never remember just 'How to' when I 'Need to'. So rather than just read it off the internet.. and forget it again, I thought I'd turn it into a little visual design that's more likely to stick in my head-- or at least be something simple (and perhaps mildly entertaining) I could put on a 4x6 card-- to quickly reference the next time I had a jones for a boiled egg.

Today's image is little visualization I created -- take a look and let me know what you think.

(BTW - Yes,.. it's quick and pretty crude execution.. certainly no work of art. I did that intentionally... partly to keep it quick, but mostly to show that practically anyone can do this-- even with the most rudimentary drawing skills ; ) Don't worry, I really can draw-- I'll bring you many examples of that in the coming days. As well, I'll be directing you to many great visual thinking examples, exercises, books, and sites too.

Give it a try... Oh, and don't forget to let me know how your eggs come out!

So why a blog on creativity?

Quite simply,.. The world desperately needs it!

It is my belief that creativity is THE world's greatest, and quite possibly least utilized, natural resource -- a resource that desperately needs to be rejuvenated in all of us.

Besides the collective good that could easily emerge from more of us accessing our innate creative abilities, it's clear to me that Generating more creative and innovative ideas is, at a minimum, in every individuals personal and professional best interest.

So, it's my plea that you join me -- and 'Turn ON' to your creativity.

Day 1

Thought 1:
When it comes to thinking creatively,..

'Normal is Boring'

What a better way to start?
